Herniated Disc & Bulging Disc Treatment in Denton

Plain truth: if a disc is pressing on a nerve, your body’s going to complain. Loudly.  At SDCC, we focus on reducing pressure, restoring motion, and giving the spine the space it needs to heal — without surgery or drugs.

What is a Herniated or Bulging Disc?

Your spinal discs are shock absorbers.  When one bulges or tears, it can push into nearby nerves.  That pressure is what causes pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness — not because your body is broken, but because it’s irritated.

Common Symptoms We See

This can happen in the:

Not everyone feels the same thing. That’s why we don’t treat everyone the same way.

We Follow a Plan

  1. Non-surgical spinal decompression to reduce disc pressure

  2. Chiropractic adjustments to restore proper joint motion

  3. Supportive therapies when appropriate

Herniated & Bulging Disc Treatment in Denton, TX

A herniated or bulging disc happens when the soft center of a spinal disc pushes outward and irritates nearby nerves. That pressure can cause back pain, neck pain, numbness, tingling, or pain that travels into the arms or legs.  We focus on reducing disc pressure and helping the body heal naturally — often through spinal decompression and targeted chiropractic care. The goal is to calm the nerve, restore movement, and help you avoid unnecessary surgery whenever possible.

Absolutely great experience here. Everybody is incredibly kind and welcoming. They were able to schedule me for an initial consult very quickly and I finally have a diagnosis for something that's been bothering me for over a year. Prior practitioners I've seen for the issue just brushed me off and recommended physical therapy. It was extremely refreshing to be taken seriously and having an answer is such a relief. I would highly recommend this office. They have been so great to work with.

I’ve been seeing Dr. B for about 2 months now, and have only tried the shockwave therapy (for my knees) and general chiropractic adjustments. Honest to God, my knees have never felt better (in conjunction with some at home therapies and working out) and my neck pain/discomfort went from a 7 to a 1. Outstanding work. The office staff is really sweet too.

I absolutely love this Spinal Decompression and Chiropractic Center. I came in with pain almost everywhere, headaches, and 18° scoliosis. By going every week for a few weeks, I was able to completely eliminate my scoliosis and have less headaches and pains. Every worker here has a kind and appreciative attitude no matter how early I am in the morning. (I visit right when they open!) I see Dr. Baugher and I’m pleasantly surprised every visit!

YOUR FIRST VISIT

Your visit begins with a quick, free conversation with Dr. B to see if what’s going on qualifies for care in our office. If it does, we move into a thorough exam — orthopedic and neurological testing, range-of-motion checks, and on-site X-rays when needed.

Once everything’s reviewed, Dr. B walks you through what he found in simple, clear language. You’ll understand exactly what’s happening, what can help, and what your personalized treatment plan would look like. Many patients who qualify for care go on to avoid surgery long-term.

FAQs

Spinal Decompression FAQs

Yes. Non-surgical spinal decompression is a gentle, controlled therapy. We only recommend it after an exam to make sure it’s appropriate for your specific condition.

No. Most patients describe it as a slow stretch and pressure relief. Many actually find it relaxing, especially once the nerve pressure starts calming down.

No. Spinal decompression is computerized and precise. It cycles tension and relaxation in a way basic traction or inversion tables can’t, which helps reduce disc pressure more effectively.

That’s what the free consultation is for. If your disc issue qualifies for decompression, we’ll explain why. If it doesn’t, we won’t force it or waste your time.
